With
the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games triathlon events now finished over for
another 4 years, here are the results of athletes from KiWAMi's
favourite teams, headed by a magnificent 4th place in the women's race by Laura
Bennett (USA). The women's medals were courageously won by Emma
Snowsill (AUS - Gold), Vanessa Ferandes (POR - Silver), and Emma Moffatt
(AUS - Bronze). The men's medals were won by Jan Frodeno (GER -
Gold), Simon Whitfield (CAN - Silver) and Bevan Docherty (NZL - Bronze).
Frodeno is a member of the Sartrouville team in France and the Hansgrohe
team in Germany, both of which are proudly sponsored by KiWAMi.

KiWAMi and South Africa join
forces at the Olympic triathlon!!
|
|
KiWAMi
and Triathlon South Africa have joined forces in 2008 for a long and
prosperous relationship highlighted this year by South Africa’s
participation in the Beijing Olympic triathlon wearing the KiWAMi
AMPHiBiAN 008 and the WAHiNA MAX. Serious medal contender in the men’s
race and Team KiWAMi member Hendrick De Villiers has been forced
out of the race due to a sudden illness that put him in hospital only 10
days ago. The South African flag will now be carried by Team KiWAMi’s Mari
Rabie and Kate Roberts in the women’s race. This
young but very talented team has ambitions not only for Beijing but
for the London Olympics in 2012. Look out for the sharp South African
coloured KiWAMi AMPHiBiAN 008 suits, which have the enviable reputation as
being the best-looking on the international circuit !

Beijing time on the 18th and 19th …!

Hong
Kong and Hungary line up in KiWAMi!
|
|
The
Hong Kong triathlon team have been faithful to the KiWAMi brand
since 2005. Hong Kong is sure to be one of the spectator and media
favourites at the Beijing Olympic triathlon, and will be proudly
represented by Athens Olympic veteran Daniel Lee Chi Wo in the
men’s race and Tania Mak in the women’s race. A veritable star
in Hong Kong, Daniel is an excellent swimmer who will be planning to keep
covered on the bike and use his experience of racing and training in the
heat to come through on the run. The Hong Kong are racing in their
national coloured KiWAMi AMPHiBiAN
008, renowned by the worlds’ best Olympic triathletes for its
performance and comfort in hot and humid conditions.
The
sole representative for Hungary at the 2008 Olympic triathlon is Zita
Szabó, who will also be wearing an Amphibian 008, colour Marino
Laguna Bianco. The Hungarian federation chose this suit for Zita in order
to give her the best possible chance to shine in Beijing. Good

KiWAMi with the Netherlands and Poland Olympic
teams !! |

The
Navy blue and orange suits of the Netherlands’ Sander Berk
and Lisa Mensik in their quest for Olympic
qualification, and they will be intending to carry the Netherlands
colours and the KiWAMi logo with pride in Beijing. KiWAMi
has been official racewear supplier to the Netherlands triathlon
federation for the past 2 years, and is proud to have been part
of making the Olympic dreams of Sander and Lisa a
reality and to support this small but talented federation in its
development. Go Sander and Lisa !!!
The
AMPHiBiAN 008 « Inferno Bianco » of the Polish
Olympic team will be easily identifiable in the peloton with its
white back and shoulder section. The women also have the option of
racing in the Inferno Bianco WAHiNA MAX.

The Czech Republic forever with
KiWAMi !! |
|
KiWAMi
has been the prefered racewear of the Czech triathon team for
the past 3 years. Beijing is no different, where the Czech team will
be carrying the KiWAMi logo. Their chosen racewear is the AMPHiBiAN
and the WAHiNA MAX in special Czech red-white-blue design. The
team is headed by 3-time Olympian and
the proud father of new-born Filip Ospaly. One of the
few athletes capable on beating anyone on a good day, Filip – who
excels in the heat -- is a dark horse pick for the Olympic title. In
the women’s race the Czech Republic is proudly represented by
the experienced Vendula Frintova and quickly improving Lenka
Zemanova.

KiWAMi is the choice of the Russian Olympic team !! |
|
Team
Russia, one of the most feared teams on the international scene –
especially in the mens competition – have selected the AMPHiBiAN
008 Savoia Inferno Bianco as their race suit for Beijing.
Following the lead of Team KiWAMi’s Ivan Vassiliev (currently
ranked 3rd in the world), the complete Russian Olympic team have
chosen to race in the AMPHiBiAN 008 because of its incomparable
performance in hot and humid conditions.
The
Russian Olympic team is comprised of Alexander Brukhankov,
Igor Sysoev et Dimitry Polyansky in the men’s triathlon,
and Olga Zausaylova et Irina Abyssova in the women’s
race. Do not be surprised to see a medal winning performance from one
of these athletes !

Team USA in KiWAMi at the Olympic Games !!. |

The
US triathlon team, always one of the most competitive teams on
the planet, has chosen KiWAMi as their racewear preference for the
2008 Olympic Games. At the request of team USA, KiWAMi has produced
suits with a unique design featuring distinctive red stars.
Extremely
light-weight and breathable, you are sure to see Matt Reed, Hunter
Kemper and Jarrod Shoemaker in the men’s race and Laura
Bennett, Julie Ertel and Sarah Haskins in the
women’s race.
Be

The
French triathlon team has arrived in Beijing with big ambitions,
especially the men's team which is lead by 3-time European Champ Fred
Belaubre, who was also a winner at the Beijing test event; He is
joined by European 2nd place getter Tony Moulai et young
speedster Laurent Vidal, who both have legitimate chances
chances of success themselves.
The
French women are represented by the very much in-form Carol Peon
and the experienced and powerful Jessica Harrisson. On their
day both of these women are capable of spoiling the party for the race
favorites.

GAMES BEGIN! KiWAMi at the Beijing Olympics. |

Olympic Games triathlon. Almost 30% of the entire field competing in
the Olympic Games triathlon on 18 and 19 August are Team KiWAMi
athletes or athletes competing for national teams racing under the KiWAMi

Frederiksen wins Poland round of the European Cup! |
| Danish Team KiWAMi
member Helle Frederiksen confirms her return to top level
racing after an injury-plagued 2007 by winning the Ponzan (POL) stage
of the European Cup. Helle, wearing her WAHiNA
MAX swimsuit came in in front of two other
Beijing-bound KiWAMi athletes - Eva
Dederko (POL) 2nd and Birgit Berk (NED) 4th. In the men's
race KiWAMi's Cédric Fleureton (FRA) finished 2nd.

20 july: Matt Reed wins Boulder Peak Triathlon! |
|
Reed
held off 5-time world champion Simon Lessing and past world champion
Peter Robertson. With a non-wetsuit swim, Reed exited the water a
solid fifth, right in the mix of things. With a fast transition and a
stellar bike ride, Reed was left to show off to his hometown crowd his
improved running.
"I wanted to take the first 5km out hard and simulate a world
cup," Reed said. "Then I shut it down a little so I can have
a good week of training. It is always great to race at home. I really
do feel I have a huge backing of support from Boulder and Denver going
into the Games."

champion Helen Tucker (GBR) finished third at Des Moines' world
cup , wearing a new trisuit specifically

She's continuing a remarkable four weeks of racing in which she took silver in Madrid and gold in
Vancouver. Next for Tucker will likely be an official Olympic berth.

5 June: Vincent LUIS (FRA) is World Champion! |
Vincent Luis of France is the new junior world champion Vancouver, Canada!
Under incredibly cold and humid conditions, Vincent was able to control
the race from the swim to the finish line, showing a growing maturity in
racing International events. Congratulations from KiWAMi!

Kiwami's Greg Bennett finished 5th at the season opening Mooloolaba ITU
World Cup, putting himself in a position of possible Olympic selection.

Chi Wo (HKG) confirmed qualification for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games
by winning the Subic Bay International Triathlon in the Philippines

008 to victory in the hot and humid conditions.
Daniel is the 7th Team
KiWAMi athlete to qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games, joining Laura
Bennett (USA), Greg Bennett (AUS), Matt Reed (USA), Sander Berk (NDL),

Bay World Cup ! |

Team KiWAMi's Carolyn
MURRAY (CAN) won her first ever World Cup event at Richards Bay today in
her
AMPHiBiAN 008.
Carolyn dominated the run, sprinting to victory on the final uphill
section to take a deserved win and put herself in firm contention for
the Canadian Olympic team.
In the men's race Matt REED
(USA) finished a gutsy 2nd in 3-way sprint finish with World Champ
Daniel UNGER (GER) 1st, and local favorite Hendrik DE VILLIERS (RSA) 3rd
in his new team South Africa
AMPHiBiAN 008. The AMPHiBiAN
takes 4 out of 6 podium places !! Great effort team KiWAMi !!

20 April : Matt REED qualifies for US Olympic team |
|
Team KiWAMi's Matt Reed
(USA) earned a place on the US Olympic triathlon team today by winning
the Olympic trials in Tuscaloosa, AL. Back to his scintillating best,
Matt broke away on the bike to begin the run with a 25sec lead over the
lead pack including pre-race favorites Hunter Kemper and Andy Potts.
Matt increased his lead to 50sec at the 9km mark before crossing the
line with a 20sec win after celebrating down the home straight. Look out
for some action from Matt in Beijing, where he will again be wearing his
favorite
AMPHiBiAN 008
suit. Go Boom-Boom !!!

13 April : Jordan RAPP (USA) 3rd at Ironman Arizona |
|
Jordan Rapp (USA), a new
Team KiWAMi member, finished third at Ironman Arizona wearing his
MANTA
-
TWiNKi
combo. The finish was with the closest Ironman podium in history; the top
3 men ended the race within 45 sec of each other and 4th place only
another 28sec further back! Well done Jordan!!
